The bombing of Birmingham in World War II caused over 2000 deaths and
thousands of other casualties. It also generated a substantial number
of heroic deeds by the civilian emergency services including Police, Fire
Brigade, Ambulance Service and Civil Defence. Michael Minton, an authority
on awards and medals, has traced and described all those recipients of
the medals awarded. The book is complete with photographs and contemporary
reports of many of the people involved and also contains colour reference
illustrations of the medals, badges and insignia described.
