Wet and Dry
traces the life of Commander Geoffrey Greenish whose adventurous career
spanned some forty-seven years. For many years, a seagoing Naval Officer,
the author rose from cadet to Commander of a variety of ships. This
wet stage of his career was followed, because of his knowledge
of the Middle East, as an Intelligence Officer in Beirut as part of
the Defence Intelligence Staff (DIS). Finally he joined the Joint Intelligence
Staff as Duty Intelligence Officer in the Cabinet Office in London which
he describes as his dry years.
