Monyhull
Colony was established in 1908 for the care of "sane epileptics and
feebleminded persons". It was considered at the time to be a "bold
venture" and was to act as a pioneer for the care and treatment of
people with learning disabilities across the country. In the ninety years
that followed, Monyhull was to become home to hundreds of people. This book traces the development of services to people with learning disabilities at Monyhull in the face of changing attitudes and legislation. |
